Einbürgerungstest: the 300 questions, plus 10 for your Bundesland

The official question catalog holds 300 federal questions and 10 questions per Bundesland: 460 in total. For you, 310 matter: the 300 federal ones plus the 10 from the state where you take the test.

In the exam you get 33 of these questions, 60 minutes of time, and 17 correct answers are enough for naturalisation.

What’s in the catalog

The questions cover politics and democracy, history, society and basic rights, plus the 10 about your Bundesland, for example its coat of arms, parliament or capital. Everything is multiple choice.

300 sounds like a lot. But the questions repeat themes, and many become easy after a little practice. This isn’t about memorising 460 lines. It’s about understanding the questions.

How the selection works

Your test is drawn from the catalog: federal questions plus questions about your Bundesland. You don’t know in advance which 33 you’ll get, so practise the whole catalog, not a shortlist.

With Klartest, every practice test is freshly composed and weights the categories where you make mistakes. You spend your time on the questions you can’t answer yet, not the ones you’ve long mastered.

All 460 questions, each one explained

Klartest has the complete official catalog: 300 federal questions and the 10 for each of the 16 Bundesländer. Every question is explained: what’s being asked, why the answer is correct, which words matter, all in your language.
